2400 SC3 stiff throttle going into reverse

Hi there, I bought a 2004 SC3 5.7 MPI, the throttle shifter is soo stiff going into reverse, unless super careful and slow it is quite harsh as I cannot feel that sweet spot, my last boat was a wee...
