Default Owners in your country

Would it be possible to have a link/area to people in your country not to in depth but being from Australia and noticing a lot of US users I would really like to try connect with people in Aust. of course staying in touch with everyone else, perhaps if we had an area for each country? I must admit I get jealous when I read of guys organising trips on your waterways I would really like to meet other users in person as well and perhaps organise raft-ups etc.

Cheers

Huddo

BTW: You guys all do a fantastic job and I love this site!

doing it by area is kinda tough as we have people from all over the world here.....but...you can go to general thread and post something specific to your area and pin it in place...that way it would stay at the top of the forum.....

It would be easy to set up regional discussion areas for this board under the General category. The Powerstroke Diesel forum I subscribe to does that and it's a nice feature to help people connect with others in their area (they do it state by state and then regionally for international). I second the request. It would be a great addition for the forum.

Subcategories serve to isolate traffic on heavy sites. If we were seeing 100 new posts in the GENERAL section per day, then it would make sense. The idea of a sub-section is to reduce the need to sequentially search for topic specific posts. Having regional pages, would see so little activity. I can see a benefit to adding a section entitled "Boating Activities, Rendezvous and Destinations" or somthing along those lines. There you would need to post a thread. for now the General section shoudl be used.

Send a shout out to folks in your area with a thread such as:

"Call for all Australian Boaters"

Starting a long-running, run on thread like tapatalk pictures will get closed and locked.

I think it's more a matter of making people and information easier to find than directing forum traffic. As a newish member, looking to make connections with people local to my area, it would be useful for me to see an obvious place to do that. The search capabilities of the forum are, um, not that helpful.

I've started an internal discussion on this topic. We'll see where this goes.
