Windlass issues

i was having issues with windlass couldn't get it to work... finally, as I was kneeling down I hit switch and it engaged... the switches require a lot of pressure in just the right spot... is this normal any suggestions on repair or should I just buy new switches

Pull the switch and check for corrosion...
