Atlanta, GA area, have 3 lakes in close proximity to choose from. I have 97 Maxum 2100 SR2 5.7 and matching trailer. Originally from Lansing, MI, the fishing is crap down here compared to fishing the inland lakes of Michigan and Canada. We dont even have real lakes, they are mostly reservoirs. Cant say I would move back, though, I dont care for the cold.

Since you have a bow rider that is the same length as my 2100SC I am curious as to the ride. Here's some background.

Ours has never been comfrotable in a light chop. Moving the trim in and out, a comfortable ride was hard to come by that is until I installed Lenco tabs. I had friends take pictures of my boat when it was "on plane" as well as just prior to climbing over the top to get on plane. One thing was apparent. the tail end is heavy... It seemed like the best speed was achieved with about half the hull out of the water, but when I saw pictures of it climbing out of the hole, the forward part of the hull was still out. In other words, roughly half the hull stays in the water all the time and the only difference is the pitch of the bow. Once on plane there is less boat in the water, and the nose is pitched down..

With the tabs installed I didn't get many pictures last year, so I'm going to be curious to see where things balance out. Since your bow rider has less weight up front, (unless you have folks sitting up forward) I would be curious to know what your rides are like. Might be different circumstances when you are boating on a lake, that's another variable in the soup. We are up and down the Potomac river mostly, with a few trips into the Chesapeke Bay.

We've talked before in this forum. I'm also from Western Washington. I boat on Lake Washington, Lake Sammamish, Moses Lake, and Puget Sound/San Juan Islands.

I've got a 2006 Maxum 2200SR3, bowrider. Bought it last August. I just took it out of winterization a few weeks ago. Finished installing dual-batteries (starter/house), put a wake board tower on, installed a VHF radio. Got the GPS/Sounder coming next. I'm into fishing season now. Been trying to catch a Chinook salmon near Hat Island out of Everett, but I keep catching the wind instead. Not by choice I found out I can handle 5 foot seas in my boat. Something I don't want to find out again.

Default ff/gps

I can highly recommend the Lowrance 337CDF if you can still find one. See :

The cup holder makes an excellent place to mount and you can see where the GPS antenna/rx is on the dash. This works very well. The unit has to be the easiest of all the units I tested as far as user interface. Lowrance is shifting to a newer GPS receiver and the have added rs232 to the unit and renumbered it to the 525Cdf, but all else remains the same. Since they've upgraded the model, you can get the 337's for about 6 bills.

I'm selling Sempre Veloce, and will probably leave the Lowrance in it for sales purposes and just have the new one mounted in my 255 SSi Chaparral.

I think you'll like it.

Unfortunately for me, I don't have a cup holder in my dash. The 2200 SR3's have a curvy dash all the way around making it diffilcult to mount anything there. I'm currentily using a handheld gps (Garmin eTrex VistaC) with a marine mount that's glued to the dash. I ordered a new Garmin 440s last night, but since they're brand new it'll be late March or April before I see it. The 4" screen will be a lot better, plus it's got a fishfinder as well. Mounting it will be a problem though. The best thing would be to find a product that will allow me to attach it either to the windshield frame or to the windshield support pole. The problem with using the support pole though is that it's on the left. Having the unit on the right of the driver would allow me to see the screen while pressing buttons while driving. Unfortunately Maxum didn't take this into consideration when they designed the 2200SR3.

thats actually my most used cup holder. Its where I keep my phone, cigs, coffee (then i gotta put the other stuff back in my pocket or into the the retarted cup holder that basically on the floor next to the seat). I just installed the gps and half of my fishfinder. Couldnt finnish the job cause i still got the shrinkwrap on. the wrap comes off this weekend which is when im gonna install the tabs.
Well my point is that when I installed the 2 units it was hard to decide where they go I thought long and hard about using the cupholder like you did. I was debating that franco cant be wrong, but i decided agains it and used the dash where I put them on both sides of the compass. So one is lightly angled to the right and the other to the left, looks like a cockpit. Works for me cause I still have my cupholder.
