Well I'll take the first plunge.............My wife and I boat on the beautiful Illinois River in the Peoria, Ill area. Our home base is the Wharf Harbor Marina which we are a member of the Wharf Harbor Yacht Club. www.wharfharbor-yachtclub.com
After record flooding in April we still have plenty of water.
Wishing everyone a great Holiday weekend and to all of our servicemen thank for your service!!!

Roger, thanks for breaking the ice. Looks like your marina organizes plenty of activities, but really a seafod boil , everybody (mid-atlantic) knows seafood is to be steamed

I boat in a number of places- that's why I stayed small. http://www.knightsbeach.com/ is where the trailer is.... http://www.hamiltonwaterfront.com/ is also a prime location for us, in the Hamilton Harbour / Burlington Bay and then even out onto Lake Onatrio when the water is calm... And also http://grandriverkayak.ca/blog/wp-co.../10/B-0421.jpg the river is a major destination for us. All towed by our '07 Silverado (usually)

Hmmm, one can now build a picture of the boat, the location, the name, the owner and now when the owner is likely to NOT be on the boat. It may be occurring to you why I hve never posted a pic of my boat, the boat name or the marina.

My wife and I are new to boating this season. We boat in the waters in and around Brigantine and Atlantic City at the Jersey Shore. Home port is North Point Marina in Brigantine ( www.northpointmarina.com). Kudos to Donna Vanzant for bringing the marina back to life after a big hit by Sandy. You probably saw the picture of her being hugged by the President when he came to visit after the marina was destroyed by the storm.....

Shrew ........to each his own......but I refuse to live like a cat in a cage......I personally don't think anything will ever happen but. You never know. I wouldn't lock the doors of my house if my wife didn't on my case. I'm Andy from Mayberry at heart:-)
I like the idea of a name and a face for all of us here at maxum land and now we got the boat and its home. Pretty soon we will schedule poker night :-) for everybody.

Shrew I understand your point and can accept that, but I think anyone who wants to steal your boat or anything on it knows that most boats are unattended during the week and can be found at any marina.
For the rest of the folks who have chimed in, thanks. It's nice to see all the interesting places we boat. Some are in my back yard and other well they are an epic distance, have you heared of online poker?

I'll play along.
Home port is Pilot House Marina, located on the Neabsco Creek just off the Potomac River. We keep our 2004 2400 SC3 on its trailer at the marina and launch from the PH ramp. Since the PH ramp is private - for PH customers only, we rarely have to wait to launch and we can usually take our sweet time as well which makes for a relaxing start to a day on the water.
I actually brought the boat home a month ago to get it water ready and do the Spring cleaning. It's finished so I'll be dragging it back down to the marina - about a 35 minute drive, tomorrow and finally getting it wet!

At the intersection of the Detroit River and Lake Erie. It's in the blue rack-n-launch bldg in the upper left of the picture on the marina home page. Come steal it ASAP please - I have a serious case of 7-foot-itus and will spend the insurance money accordingly!!
