Default What to look for 1997 200 ss

I come from other boat manufactures. I am lookin at buying a 1997 200 ss what do I need to look for? Wood stringers? Wood floors? I have searched the Internet to find nothing about the construction.

Thanks in advance.

Welcome aboard.

yes like the majority of the boats out there the structure is wood covered in fiberglass. Nothing special about the Maxums to look for that you would not do for any other boat.

Wow ok thanks. I never would have guessed fiberglass over wood in 1997 still. Majority of inboards by early 90's are all fiberglass.

That is not an accurate statement. Most boats have wood stringers and transoms wrapped in fiberglass and resin.

I agree with shrew that the majority of boats whether I/O, O/B, or inboard have wood as their structure. Some have gone to PCV or other composite materials.
