Default Water

New to my boat. In the slip and hooked up to city water, I can only get water to run in the sink in the head. But no water comes out of the faucet in the galley. Have I left something closed, or a by-pass valve closed????
Thks in advance.

Welcome aboard!

You didn’t provide boat model/year info but have you tried removing the aerator from the faucet as the screen can become clogged?

Not familiar with the model, but that won't stop me from throwing out some guesses .

Do you have the same problem when not on shore water, but getting water from your pot water tank?

Are you able to access under the head sink to see where the incoming pipes (probably PEX) run back to?

Are you able to access under the galley sink and see where the incoming pipes run back to?

There is typically a line that comes in from the shore connection point that meets up with the line coming off the pot H2O pump at a T with the third leg feeding the whole boat - a 'main' if you will. Depending on 1) If you're having the same trouble off 'tank' water as you are from shore water and 2) where the T is in relation to the head and galley sink, you might be able to determine if you have blockage somewhere (be that a pinched/crimped hose) or a valve out of position.

I know I put in some isolation valves when I did some plumbing work a few years back so I did could use the galley and aft head while working on the forward head in my 4100 SCA - your boat's PO might have installed similar isolations.

Was it already removed? The standard faucet came with one.

Glad you fix the water flow.

Under Documents of this site you will find Maxum manuals, go to year 2000 and you will find a multi model manual that includes your. Looking at it the heater should be in the engine compartment on the starboard side next to the aftberth bulkhead.

On my 1997 2800, the water heater was in the engine compartment. It looks like this, only in a 6 gallon model:

Thks for the info on the water heater.
Another question I have: where is the DC panel or circuit breaker panel on the 1997 2800 Maxum?

Without any manuals, Im shooting in the dark.

As mmwjr suggested the other day (see below), go to documents section and the manual and all details you are asking about are listed.

On most boats it’s just inside the cabin. It will have main breakers as well as accessory breakers. Also there will be power meter and a polarity light.

Hey again.

Yes, the AC circuit board is just inside the entrance way. But no DC circuitry. Where can I find the DC panel on the 1997 2800 Maxum? I want to be able to turn on the stereo system, ect.
Tried to download the manual, but I keep getting an error.
Again, thanks for your help!

My bad. There really isn’t a DC panel but a fuse panel located under the helm, should be behind an access panel. Sometimes the radio may be wired to a switch at the helm but I think the typical factory setup is it’s hardwire to the battery selector switch and get power when the switch is on batt 1 or 2. The fuse panel gets power from the battery switch as well.
