I used these guys - http://www.repairclinic.com/Shop-For...ce-Maker-Parts - with a minimum of hassle.

Good luck,

$1000 to repair? How long will it take you to go through roughly 400 x 5lb bags of ice @ $2.50/bag (USD)? If you boat for 6 months of the year and buy 2 bags of ice/week @ $2.50/bag, then you'll break even in 7.69 years.

If you are 100% sure the freezer is working properly you can replace the controller or the entire ice maker assembly. I did both before replacing the entire unit for about $800-$900. I kept the ice maker assembly and recently gave it to a friend. His ice maker works perfectly now. My icemaker started leaking Freon. Once that happens its shot. The freezer tubing is an integral part of the ice maker box. The controller is easy to change. Changing the assembly gets really messy due to some silver goop you need to squirt everywhere.

Good Luck
Dan

BTW It's worth fixing. It's one of my favorite parts of the boat.

I head down Friday night, dump the ice in the cooler and repeat on Saturday morning. Beer is nice and cold and by the time I want a cocktail there's already another 5-10 lbs ready. Need lots of ice for frozen drinks. The little $140 machine is nice but only makes 1-1.5 lbs of ice at a time.
