I haven't mounted a TV there, however, should be plywood behind the upholstered bulkhead. I'd guess around 1/2 inch, though I never measured it. I would want to through bolt a TV mount. I wouldn't trust just screwing it in.

All I can really say is - all these TV / TV mount threads (starting with Bella's) is really worsening my already severe case of 4-6' itis!!

on my 2700SCR I mounted the tv swivel mount right thru the bhd thru the head fwd bhd....the reason is that it's hollow there......so..I mounted it with stainless steel screws and huge washers to spread the load on the fiberglass....used nyloc's to hold it ..and 4200 silicone sealant to seal the holes up...worked great for about 5 yrs that we owned the boat..never had any cracking or leaks from taking a shower .....there is literally a gap between the 2 so nothing to hold on the fwd bhd.....and you can't get any of the panelling off in order to gain access between the 2 units....
hope this helps..

Seapuppy, do you have pics of this? I just purchased a 2700SCR myself, looking to do the same thing.

Congrats on the 2700 Mr. Hawthorn.
I see you're in Woodbridge - Are you keeping the boat down there? We keep our 2400 SC3 at a Marina in Woodbridge but it stays on the hard.
Best of luck with the new to you boat!
Regards, Dan

Sound like a case for a hollow wall hanger toggle bolt? The ones that spring out after you push them through the hole??

Pilot House - same here. Nice folks, clean facility. For some reason I think I recall seeing a 2700 down there - was your 2700 hanging in the straps as recently as last Saturday? Or maybe it was out in Belmont Bay on Sat.....
Best of luck with the boat. Will likely run into ya at some point.

seems this is the only pic I have...but I had to run screws and washers with locking nuts on the inside of the shower wall...there is no wood between the 2 bulkheads....it held with no problem...
toggles might work...just make sure they are really non corrosive types...water can corrode aluminum parts...

Thanks SP, that's the same setup we are going for.
SS, we are in the lift slips to the left of the offices, "Papa Bear" is the boat name for now, still deciding whether to change it or not as the boat has been at Pilot House nearly all its life through five owners with no name change. If you see us out, stop on by!

Will do, Don, and congrats on the boat once again.
Ours is kept in the upper lot, protected with a full cover. "Aweigh Time". Same - if you see us out and about don't hesitate to throw some lines on our deck.

Dan

Sorry to bring up an old topic...However, i am looking to install a 22" led tv to my 2001 2400 SCR Maxum. Just like at the beginning of this thread. So what is the FINAL judgement on this. Please only give advice on a 2400 SCR. Should I mount with Heavy Duty Epoxy only or can I try to put a few screws into the wood? Is there wood there? I do not think that was answered by anyone. If anyone has pictures of my model with the TV where I mentioned or some other place, please attach. I do not want to install at the anchor door because as we know, that area lifts up for sleeping and would block the TV. Is there anyway to get back behind that area somehow? Where does the power plug in if not? Thanks. Rich

I installed a 20" Insignia flat screen as seen in the photo
The Insignia has a 12vt. Input so I ran everything above the microwave to the radio/DVD player

thanks tj... looks great. However, my setup (2001 - 2400 SCR) does nto look like yours. Therefore, i am trying to installing on the other side (Starboard) just on the other side of the head wall. I don't know if there is enough wood there to "catch" screws or if I will go right "through" to the head wall (that would be bad).

actually that wouldn't be bad...there is no wood between the bkd and the head shell.....so....you have to go thru the head wall and use lock nuts and a big flat washer to spread the load....you can hide it with a coat hanger....(did something like that on my 2700scr)..it worked great and held the towels up in the head nicely...the other thing to think about is where to run the wiring...I used a cable tray....double sticky tape and it wasn't even noticed....(I know it looked a little tacky but hid all the wires).......
