Default Transom Pictures

My wife and I are arguing about lettering for our boat. We have denamed and are giving her a new name. We have a 1998 3000 SCR and if you have any pictures of your transom lettering, we would love to see it. The 3000 SCR is really broken up at the transom and we didn't really like what we had before.

It is gold leaf over marine blue. New top being made (hope to have this month) is also marine blue.

Boat US has a wide variety of fonts to choose from. We measured our transom, ordered the name and installed ourselves. The online graphics tool allows you to play with fonts and sizes, even slants, gradients and shadowing until you find what you like and what would work for you. I strongly suggest measuring the area first and getting an idea of the dimensions of the area you would have your name before using the tool. When you select fonts and a name it will give you the height and width according to the aspect ratio.

This is our 2001 3000 SCR........a local sign shop did the work. Whatever you name her you will be cutting the letters for the storage locker doors.

Hey Gar,

The only thing missing in this picture are some ice cold barley pops! I like the cartoon graphic of the male fish scratching his nuts....classic! nice job!

Hey Bella...........never quite heard it put that way??? but thanks for the thumbs up! The fish were a design of a friend of ours that made t-shirts. We just carried it over to the boat door since we had some room to fill. The barley was out of picture :-)

I call em' like I see um Roger!, I call em like I see um. Now that is cool as a cucumber, you have t shirts that match the boat name? what a great idea. :-)

Glad to see this thread. I've been wondering how gold lettering would show up on our white transom. All of these look great but it looks like they do need some kind of outline.

Good Choice John, If you do go with gold, I would stick with the real thing, genuine 24kt. gold leaf. I have had mine on for over ten years and it still looks like the day I put it on. Real G/L is spendy but like every thing of quality, you usually get what you pay for-

Thanks for all the comments! Roger, that is a good picture. I had seen a post of your BBQ grill and had hoped that you would respond. Bella, We have done the de-naming party and I think Neptune was pleased. The naming party will be more gods and more expensive libation. We are still undecided what style that we want but appreciate all the pictures.

Good deal. Now it says that for the renaming; "It is usual for the renaming ceremony to be conducted immediately following the purging ceremony, although it may be done at any time after the purging ceremony. For this portion of the proceedings, you will need more Champagne, Much more because you have a few more gods to appease". Ah' Darn it! More Champagne! Have fun choosing your name.

Regarding BBQ mounts, since we have matching transom lazerette doors you could mount yours like I did my BBQ on the inside of the door to hide it when not in use. The mounts are all standard Magma BBQ parts. The door underneath also helps prevent any drips from hitting the swim step too and they wipe up easy. Another thing to consider when mounting your BBQ is not doing it near your Gas tank vent for obvious reasons ;-)

Just a followup. We have decided on a name, done the renaming and mounted the BBQ. I will post pictures later but we decided to mount a flush mount on the swim platform that we can use as a table or BBQ mount. Our platform is 4 1/2 feet so there was plenty of room to mount this. Thanks to everyone! We have had a ton of fun looking and thinking of what we wanted.
