Default Trailer Price Opinions Wanted

Hi All,
I am considering buying a trailer for my 3200 SCR, so I have been looking thru Craigslist on occasion lately, I found a guy locally that has a steel (I was hoping for aluminum) triaxle trailer that will fit up to a 38' boat, it's a custom built trailer that is extremely well built, it has working Hydrolic brakes and the only rust is on the winch beam, which can be sanded and painted easily. The owner bought it with a boat he is parting out, and he does not know the year but says it is not ancient looking. It is also a fresh water trailer!
So my question to you all is, how much do you think this might be worth? I'm curious to get your input before I let you know how much he is asking!
I would be using it primarily to haul the boat out every year to take it to an indoor storage facility about 3 miles from my marina, and also for the occasional maintenance haul out.
I appreciate any input from you all!
Thanks,
Mike

If that is all you are going to use it for I would start out at around 2500.00 and go from there. Any brakes on either of the axles?

He says the brakes are Hydrolic and that they do work. ... not sure if they are on one axle or more then one.

I will say it looks pretty heavy duty but still I wouldn't pay over 3 grand for what you are going to use it for.

It looks like it would suit your purpose. You will want brakes on at lease 2 of the axles. That is a lot of weight you will need to stop.

I offered him $3000, he said his bottom cash price is $4000....I told him to call me if he gets tired of looking at it.
