Default Trailer Identification

Hello, please can you help.
Just purchased a 2000, Maxum 1900sc, on a single axle, American ESCORT trailer, with hydraulic TITAN surge breaks. I cannot find any identification marks on the trailer giving the Unladen weight or Max laden weight.
There are no VIN plates.I would estimate the trailer to be aged between 1998 and 2000.
Any advice would be gratefully received.

Tony, United Kingdom

There should be a sticker on the inside of the port side frame rail about a 30cm from the front with this info. If it is an Escort trailer, It most likely came with that boat. Be aware that the tire size and load rating have to match what is listed on the sticker or the max weight will be different.

Many thanks for the information, but there are no identifying stickers or marks. The boat and trailer were a package, as the Maxum stickers are fitted along each side of the trailer.

The tyres are Titan ST 225 / 75 D15, rated at load max, 2540 ibs each.
Does this mean the max Gross weight (boat including trailer) capacity is 5080 ibs?.
Would there be a serial number stamped elsewhere on the trailer.
Does anyone own a similar trailer that can help?
Regards,
Tony.

I believe that Escort Trailers were sold with Maxum Boats. I was able to find this post:

http://www.maxumboatparts.com/1999/trai ... ailers.htm

(I know you said the issue is you cannot find the VIN, I thought maybe the doc might be able to point out a hidden spot or alternate means of identification).

Shrew,
Many thanks for the website details. It shows all the Escort trailer sizes / schematics.
Unfortunately no weight details/ specs.
If anyone out there has any info, be grateful for it. My trailer is the 20 foot, single axle Escort model.

Cheers,
Tony.
