Default trailer brakes

I would like to change my road runner trailer surge brakes to electric over hydraulic they are drum I have heard that disc is the only way to go in salt water.Does the drum not work well in salt water??.I was thinking of the brake rite kit any ideas. thanks

I can attest to salt water destroying my drum brakes in under 2 years and I rinse my trailer after each use and store it in a garage! If the cost isn't a factor I've read positive things about the electric marine brakes, but in my case it was just easier to get the drum assemblies for $50 each...four bolts later (each side) and a quick bleed I've got another 2 years. Took me under an hour.
