A little more info on your setup would be helpful. What year, size engine, and type of cooling system do you have?
When you say "thermostat is not reading right", are you referring to the temp gauge? If so, how do you know the gauge is incorrect?
Do you have a laser temp gun? They are really handy and will help you find the source of your problem quickly.
Is this a new to you boat? Are you sure there is a thermostat installed?
Sorry for the questions, just want to help you figure this out.

It's the dometic Passport I/O Environmental Control that controls the air and heat in the cabin.

Using an IR temp sensor what is the actual cabin temp? Does it always read 107? Is the AC coming on?

Yes the ac comes on but the heat won't because temp adjustments only go from 60-85. I contacted company and they said that the thermostat board is bad so the next question is, would a regular house thermostat work??? $215 for new control so I can get a bad ass bluetooth home one for less than that!

Don’t know. Do you have a wiring diagram for the AC or current thermostat?

Thanks Mike I found the same thing because of the fact that the Dometic thermostat can give you error codes that will protect the unit. So you have to replace the air conditioning control with an original oem part.

The main reason I said no is because a house thermostat doesn't have a control to turn on the raw water cooling pump used by the AC to carry heat away.
