Nice bunch of pics. What kind of truck is that pulling the boat/trailer?

Ahh, the Lake Powell pics. I've spent at least 2 weeks a year for the last 30 years on that lake. Barely even need a map there! Live in Florida now, so adjusting to a whole new kind of boating.

Mike.....just took he last batch off!!! Have about 2 1/2 pounds.... The real trick is in the cut. Have butcher put the meat in freezer for about an hour before he cuts it to the 1/8in slices. Then I marinate it over night, smoke at 150 for about 4hrs.

Recently returned from 12 days in the BVI. We tried something new and chartered a 52' Cat.

I liked it for the comforts but they don't sail well.

That's quite a change going from your boat to a 52' Cat, have you sailed before?

I chartered with The Moorings out of Tortola. See the web site below for pricing as it changes depending on the season. April is my favorite time in the BVI but schedules would not allow for that this year.

The Cat was real roomy and comfy for 4 couples. It has a huge galley area and 4 staterooms with a head and shower in each.

My favorite destinations are Cane Garden Bay (Tortola), Yost Van Dyke, Peter Island, Cooper Island and Virgin Gorda (Bitter End in North Sound).

Avoid the Easter week. Puerto Rico is on holiday that week and the mooring fields get crowded.

Only thing I would do different is to not leave

If you've never chartered or sailed, This is the way to do it. It's easy to find your way around and with the Cat you can juts motor around the islands.

My favorite sailing destination is the Exumas in the Bahamas but I was out voted this year

No, its not that bad at all. In a way, its a lot like phoenix. You just dash from house to car to work and back again. Only difference is, when the sun sets, it cools off!

I'm loving it here. Got a house with a private dock, 20 miles to the ocean. Can't do that in AZ.

Picking up the boat 170 miles away, and cruising it home. Can't do that in AZ!

I avoid Powell in July and Aug. I have 6 trips planned in Sept and Oct though

Sept is when the day time temps start to come down but the water is still warm and the crowds are gone.
