Default Starboard trim switch

My 01 3000 scr twin 5.0 L carbs with bravo 2 outdrive trim switch for the starboard drive is not working correctly. I can lower the drive but when I press the top switch it doesn't trim up. If I do need the drive up I use the trailer up button which the trim guage shows it going up.

So is the problem in the trim switch on the port side throttle side? Or a connection back in the engine compartment.

Thanks

Roger

The issue is the trim limit switch on the transom assembly gimbal ring, puck on the side has broken wires. I would live with it until you need to replace the bellows since the entire assembly needs to come apart.

I don't recall.....does the Trim up and Trailer use the same solenoid??

Roger, if you tap the trim up repeatedly, does it eventually work? That would indicate a solenoid.

Shrew ...when the drives are all the way up I can lower them all the way down by using the trim controls on the throttle hand. But when I use the trim control for the starboard side to trim up nothing happens. However I can use the trailer button that raises both drives up and the trim shows that.

Had the mechanic trouble shoot the trim switch today and like you said Mike pretty sure it is the trim limit switch. So I've decided to jump into the firey pond and get everything done with bellows and such. I had all that done in 09 so the bellows are near 9 years old. So I guess I got my money worth.
