Default Starboard list while cruising

I have a 2001 Maxum 2300 SCR, with Mercruiser 6.2, with the counter-rotating props. I have had the boat five years. This year, the boat rides with a pronounced starboard list when under power - getting onto plane and when cruising. This did not happen before, it always rode flat. What are the likely problems? I did not use the boat at all last year, so it sat for 18 months until this summer. Thanks for any suggestions and answers.

Welcome aboard

Is the list only present while underway?

Water intrusion on the starboard side.

Faulty trim tab.

Only lists when underway. Sits flat on the water when still. I don't have trim tabs. What is water intrusion? Thanks for your quick reply, I am heading out to the beach with the kids for afternoon, will check again for more info later.

Maybe a silly question, but do you have more weight on the starboard side? Ie. did you stow a bunch of stuff on one side, have people only sitting on that side, etc?

The effect of the weight difference would be less noticeable when you are displacing water instead of riding on top of it.

It's either more weight or more drag on stbd side.

Water intrusion is the boat leaking in water into cavities within the hull. Adds weight.

Since it’s flat until on plane I would assume you have more weight on the starboard side then you did in the past. Kids got bigger, do they all sit on the starboard side. Trim tabs can help lever her out plus improve time to plane on a boat of this size.

Your boat is level when sitting in the water? With boat in the water at the dock, have one large or two medium size people in the boat go to starboard side, then port side. Does your boat list the same amount each way?
When underway, on plane, and listing, does the list go away if you cut power?
Are both props the same pitch and diameter?
You need to first determine if your list is a weight issue or drive issue.
