Default SmartCraft Instruments

Hi everyone and happy Easter

Does anyone have the Smartcraft Gauges on their boat. We have not Received our new boat yet, but it is coming with these gauges and I would like to know what features they have? I have checked into it and the specifiics are not very detailed.
Do they have a trip measurement?
Do they measure fuel usage?
Do they give GPH readings?

We are like proud parents waiting for their new baby to arrive.

Thanks
Paul & Kathy

Default Hi

Thanks Seapuppy

We have just traded our 98 2355 Bayliner in on a new Maxum 2500 SE. We loved our Bayliner alot [it was the last of three Bayliners], we are just looking for a little bit newer and a lot more bling and the Maxum has it all.

If anyone has anything to tell us about this model we would like to hear it.
Hands on experience is better than a sales pitch.

Thanks for the welcome
Paul & Kathy

From Mercury Messenger magazine:

"Mercury’s™ remarkable Smartcraft™ line is more than a new series of gauges that are incredibly easy to connect. (although they’re that, too!) What makes Smartcraft so smart is how it collects information to display and then what is actually tells you.

First things first: A truly accurate display has to be one with the source of information it displays. Your complete works because the hardware communicates precisely with the software inside it. Smartcraftâ„¢ is the same. At Mercuryâ„¢, we build all types of Smartcraftâ„¢ engines, from 300 HP to 1000HP, yet every Smartcraftâ„¢ display works on any item. How? With an innovative little routine we created and patented for our system called Auto-detect and Auto-select.

Auto-detect lets you plug a Smartcraft™ System Monitor into any engine without complicated set-up procedures or false warning alarms. The display quickly configures itself for the type of engine it’s connected to, including all the sensors. That’s smart electronics! But it doesn’t stop there. After Smartcraft detects a sensor, it tells you if the sensor is faulty or not. Once Smartcraft detects all the sensors, it automatically eliminates displays that aren’t supported. This way, you won’t have alarms caused by missing information.

The other smart part about Smartcraft™ is what you an do with all this information. For the first time, boaters can now leave the dock with the confidence that their on-board system was designed to help them enjoy their sport. Here’s just a sample of the kinds of new information Smartcraft™ can deliver.

fuel used - fuel remaining - range with remaining fuel - gallons needed to reach net waypoint (and all fuel monitoring information on twin engine boats is combined into one easy number) water temperature - air temperature - water depth - alarm information and maintenance reminders

So while Smartcraftâ„¢ stands for exciting innovations, superior quality and easy installation, it's also about delivering dependability and security to our customers. And that may just be the smartest thing of all about Smartcraftâ„¢."

I’m not sure which sensors your 2500 will be equipped with.
