Default Ski tow ring mount question for a 2500 SCR

I have the first of many questions for the collective wisdom of this board as I prep my 2001 2500 SCR for our first real season out on the water in it.

It is moral imperative that I be able to pull a wake board, or at least a tube, behind the boat. I refuse to use the Y adapter between the two tow rings on the transom. So, I intend to mount a ski tow ring, the only question is where? I would love to mount it as high as possible, but I am not sure the upper vertical portion (dare I say the upper transom.. not sure what that area is known as) of the swim platform is stressed for it. The middle of the swim platform on the back end certainly seems strong enough, but not sure I would ever be able to get up in there to secure it.

Does anyone here have any experience mounting one, on a 2500 or similar model? If you have, pictures would be appreciated as well.

Thanks,
Scott

If the area is not reinforced with core material laminated in it will fail.

Why?

If you go into your engine compartment and look at the transom from the inside you should see where the transom has been reinforced around the inside of the transom assembly.

You will need a backing plate and nylon lock nuts along with a marine caulk like a 3m 4200 or Lifecaulk.
