restarting problem

After stopping to pick up skiers. restarting has been a problem. seems to have no gas in the carb, I need to give it half throttle to get it restatred.
after starting runs great.

I have heard about gas getting to hot but I not sure how to check it out

Yours won't start and mine won't stop, LOL!. Sounds like we both need to trade ours in for fuel injection.

How old is your 3.0? When was the last tune up? Could be due if not a total carb rebuild.

well.....it could be several things......when was the last time you did a complete tune up....check timing and dwell.....don't know how old it is but if it's something like 5-10 yrs old...it might require a rebuild.....
