Default Replacement Hatch - Maxum 3000 SCR

Good afternoon Forum Members,

Last year I bought a used 1999 Maxum SCR 3000. This spring, I broke the shore power hatch, where the shore power cord passes into the rear compartment. When the hatch was open, I let the cords slip down below the opening, then tried to close it. I am sure at least half of you know the break in that rather brittle hatch.

Does anyone have any advice where I can find a replacement?
Thank you.

Your door is either lexan or starboard material. You are going to have to make one yourself

About 5 years ago mine split completely in half. I had a friend who made countertops. He took it and using the same technology that they use on Corian countertops "welded" it back together and put on a backing plate that spanned the crack. I have never had a problem since.

I had the same problem, and interestingly Jay in 2011 used the same approach. I have a friend who does countertop repair. He actually cut to new transom hatches that I now use for my electrical and wash area.

The above are really your only options:

1) Ignore it

2) Fabricate one from white lexan (brittle) or starboard/Kingboard

3) Have it repaired. Not just counter fabricators. I had a friend who was an auto-body guy who fixed the plastic fairing on another friends snowmobile. The crack was several feet. When he was done, along with a new coat paint, you couldn't tell.

I know this is old, but I broke one on my 3200 5 or 6 years ago. I brought it to the local plastics shop (Norva Plastics) and picked the color I thought best matched in the same material and then they cut it out to match perfectly.
