Default Repairing rubbed gel coat

I searched google and here and didn't find what I wanted...
The corners of my swim platform have had the gel coat worn off all the way to the fiber glass. Still looks solid and there are no gouges, just rubbed on the dock for a long time I imagine.
Is applying gel coat so a smooth rubbed corner something I can do? I've done the gel coat repairs for gouges and chips, but this is a larger area and there's no lip to fill in to like a gouge...
Any tips or advice?

You may find the best way is to spread layers until you have enough to be able to sand down to the original base.
