Default Refrig Question

How do I keep the power on to the refrig after we disconnect from shore power last time we went out everything defrosted. There is a switch inside that says on/off when hooked to shore power it's in the off position should I switch it over before going out? Or am I missing something else.

mine's automatic....when we unplug from shore pwr...it automatically switches to 12vdc...so...try it..switch it over to on....unplug the fridge and see if it keeps running...should work...

I'm with SP. Mine automatically flips between the 120VAC and 12VDC when I disconnect from shorepower. However, I ALWAYS leave my fridge set to ON and teh green light is always on. The only thing I do is lower the temp. setting to around 2.5-3. Norcold recommends setting to 3 when on 12VDC to maximize battery life. when I turn it off, it goes off, but then I never turn it off when on Shorepower, so i didn't realize that 120VAC bypasses that shutoff switch. I guess when on 120VAC you'll need to make sure you use the breaker on the panel.
