Puget Sound Rendezvous?
Hello all Puget Sound area folks. I was just reading recent posts and have come to notice that there seem to be quite a few Puget Sounders on here. We should plan a weekend rendezvous somewhere this summer.

Yeah, I would be interested actually. We keep our boat in Everett, but frequently make trips down to Seattle or up into the San Juans. I think a group of Maxums together would be a quite a sight, and it would be great to get to know some of the folks around here.
What did you have in mind? South Sound deep, up North, dockside, or a flotilla barged together on a couple of hooks? We have plans on the next few holiday weekends already at least, but with exception of a few family gathering weekends, are pretty open into the fall. Hopefully Summer has finally arrived this week!
Would we allow the Maxum-less members? I know this character that sometimes hangs around here, heck of a guy, always happy to help... Sea-somethin' rather.

Sorry Ed... For those of us that live around here, most think it's Heaven on Earth. I forget others don't know or really care. When I visited Europe make in the mid-90's (including Amsterdam - beautiful town) and told people I was from Seattle in Washington State, most would say "Washington DC?" or "...is that near Hollywood?" Erm, not really, but that's ok.
A few pics

ouch.....I can beg with the rest of them.....lets figure on someplace in the middle...like bremerton..port orchard..or maybe poulsbo....(I need docks to get the dogs off for potty breaks)...
actually it's now called the Salish Sea..(what moron thought that up)..but the Puget sound is here in Washington state and is one of the most impressive places to boat!!....

Good idea. I hadn't thought about the pups. I haven't been to any of those places, but I believe I've read Bremerton can be a tricky approach at the entrance depending on the tide and wind.
BTW Steve - if you're around Friday evening, stop by. We're taking the boat out for a short post-fix dry run (cooling system) and I've got an unrelated short tale you might find entertaining. If not, another time.

I'd be open for anything. We are currently waiting patiently for the arrival of our new, second young boater, as he is already 2 days late, so mid-end July on would be doable for us.

Maxliner - I like it! Nicest one I've seen, easily. I'm with Shrew - there's nothing quite like the serenity of being on the hook - and the price is definitely right. Few things boating related are free.
Good to know about Bremerton. The story of old I recall was a painful read. Boats entering the breakwater would be swept into those already tied to the dock, one after the other. Even with all fenders down people were exchanging hull damage. Glad to hear that's been changed.
I should be around there about 4:30-5, and it's looking like I'll be back Saturday morning. So many projects, so little time.

Haven't had the opportunity to meet anyone from the forums yet but sounds like a lot of you guys are close by. I usually launch out of Everett and would definitely like to tag along with my wife for a nice trip on the sound. Keep us posted on details. Hopefully I'll get to be out on the water this weekend. It's looking like it will be nice weather.

We went out tonight after work and had a great time. The East side of Hat Island was simply gorgeous. We have family obligations this weekend, but enjoy and I hope the weather works out for ya'll.

I will keep checking for the scheduled date. But given where I am coming from, we
will leave tomorrow. Presume it is pretty much a straight shot once I hang a right and head north out of Ventura harbor.
See you soon.
