Default Possible 97 3200 SCR purchase

Hi, I am looking at a 1997 3200 scr for purchase. I would appreciate any advice on what to look for or obvious questions to be asked. I am an avid lake boater and have owned ski boats and runabouts over the years and this will be my first venture into sport cruisers. This particular boat is moored in Southern California.
Thank you in advance.

Have the boat surveyed! Look into the cost to relate the boat to where you are now so you’ll know the total expense.

Not sure if you have owned a boat with an outdrive before but be sure the bellows are in good shape and the drives don’t have too much side to side play. I would also use an IR temp sensor and take temperatures of the exhaust manifolds and risers, they should not be over 120 *F.

Great boat! We have owned Sea Ray, Four Winns, Glaston, and Monterey and really like our 3200. Love the layout and the design overall.

If you get the survey they will check for all the things that could add extra expense in the near future. If not, any service records on the bellows, impeller, manifolds and risers is always helpful. A compression test and DIY testing for water intrusion would be the minimum I would do. You can buy an ok moisture reader and compression gauge for a few hundred dollars.

Being in salt water you would like want to see an enclosed water system or freshwater flush setup being if it's in saltwater.
