Default Porpoising 1800SR3 Problem

I have a 2005 Maxum 1800SR3 Bowrider and ever since we have had it we have had huge problems with the boat porpoising and bouncing. I have tried changing prop down from 21 inch to 19 in pitch but no joy. I have put sand bags in the front, no joy. Now as a last result I am considering installing trim tabs to see if this works.
At the moment I have to run the motor trimmed all the way down just to try and keep the boat from porpoising. As soon as I start to trim the motor back up it just starts bouncing. This is not good as heavy on fuel economy and cant be good for the engine
Any help or ideas much appreciated.

Welcome aboard!

Bouncing and porpoising are two different things, which is it? In addition to what Don asked how much weight is on board including people and gear? River, lake, bay and wave height? In my case this would be a small boat for the Chesapeake Bay and bouncing would be normal.

Trim tabs. For a boat that size, Smart Tabs would more than likely work fine. You won't get the lateral control of powered tabs, but it will definitely improve time to plane, bow rise and porpoising.
