Default Peace of mind

Hi all. I am considering adding an outboard motor to my 03 2400 sc. I am on a large lake with few folks and it would be a reassurance in case of unwanted silence. Yes it would help with trolling and cut down on using my thirsty 6.2. The boat has a 2 foot swim platform so this is where I would have to install the motor. Any thoughts, directions, perceived costs, or has anyone else done this? Thanks waiting for the hard water to go away (ice).

welcome to the zoo.....
first off..people out here in the pacnorwest do it all the time...they will put a 9.9 hp kicker motor on an drop down bracket...then attach a link bar or steerage bar to the outdrive so you can just set it at a throttle speed and drive from the seat....or you can use a tiller extension to drive while standing up....it's tough to steer a normal outdrive when it's in the down position while your standing on the swimstep......

take lotsa pic's cuz we'd like to see...
