Default Outdrive help

Does anybody know what this small hose goes to from the transom to the outdrive? It was disconnected when I got back to my house. Goes into a zerk fitting on the outdrive.

That’s the speedometer air tube. There is a small hole in the leading edge of the drive that takes in water when underway which compresses the air in this hose which then cause the speedometer needle to move.

That would make so much sense considering that my Speedo would intermittently not work. Thank you so much!

That is a pitot system and measures pressure from a port on the leading edge of the outdrive. Look down the outdrive and you will see a small notch. Clean that out with a paper clip.
