Default opinions on value

Greetings folks. Looking for an opinion on how much the engine package will increase/decrease the value of a boat. For example, looking at a 1999 3000SCR. Low hour 5.0L seem to be in the 35,000 range.

The same boat with 4.3?
Or maxed out with 5.7?

Thoughts on +/- in % value?

thanks

Bush

biggerseagar,

assuming that you were looking at a 1999 with 350hrs with a 5.0 L and were willing to pay $35,000. How much would you pay for the 5.7?

IMO the engine hours and HP rating are better selling points.

4.3 EFI is 220 HP and the 5.0L (2bbl) is 220 HP

Also I would take a Bravo over the Alpha if given a choice, however the Alpha is a good drive so it is not a show stopper.

I sold my 1999 3000 SCR last year for $38000 and it had 5.0 engines. 5.7 engines was not even mentioned. Might be quicker sale, but 5.0 did well enough for sea trial.

No reason to bury it in the Buy/Sell section. Moved to General Discussion. Interesting thread.

You should be able to see what NADA and other sources give you for variances. No the bottom line price may not always be accurate, but you should be able to see the differences in price when toggling the engine options to get a ballpark for what each adds/subtracts.
