Default New to me Maxum 3300 SCR

I am closing this week on a new to me 2003 Maxum 3300. Haven't ever owned a cruiser, hell, never owned anything more than a ski boat.

Big jump I know, but the wife wanted A/C, and this boat came up on our Radar.

Any thoughts good or bad about the model?

Welcome to the zoo.....the 3300 is an awesome boat...hope you have a good time with it...the twins will make docking a dream...and alot of room..wish I'd had a little bit bigger boat last weekend..but hey...the 2700 is nice....best of luck and don't forget to get it surveyed before you take acceptance....

I did have a survey a couple of weeks ago, the dealer is fixing every thing they came up with, all minor except a gimball bearing.

Having them add a bilge heater while they are at it and a fume detector in the engine room.

Somebody had stolen the stereo, so I'll have to have some work done there.

It's got the 5.0's and B3's.

Weather finally cooperated yesterday and was able to take it out for my lake trial....got it up to 44mph on the GPS.

It does take some time to get on plane, but I didn't mess with the tabs or the trim.......last two boats were inboards, going to have to learn all over again how to drive with outdrives.

And funny thing is, the salesman bounced it hard off the slip bringing it back in. Told my wife, hell, I can do that!

Hello, as you can see from my user name, John. I also own a Maxum 3300
with twin 5.0 bravo 3 !

where is your port of call? I live in New Jersey We will have our boat in the Hudson river just north of New york City I bought it in the fall and took it out one day for a shake down cruise, we are hoping to splash the boat the weekend after easter, our first cruise will be from lower CT to Mystic sea port in CT over night and back to the dealer we purchased it from! after that we will bring it to the Hudson river! I have been trying to get some boat performance charts on speeds vs fuel economy but have not been sussessful!

My boat has HVAC, Generator, windless, GPS, radar, radio, and all the other stuff, I have been looking at the smartcraft system which is an intelligent on board computer the handles alot of onboard operating information, such as syning the motors , trim tabs, monitering on board cooling , fuel management etc.
good luck with your cruiser, we hope to spend many a night cruising.

John

Here's a picture of the new boat, I don't officially take possession until Friday.

Hope the weather clears out for the weekend.
