Hello All!
I fell in love with the look of the 2300 SR and think I have found my boat but I have some questions on things that I should look for and was hoping for some advice. The boat is a 2000 2300 SR with a 5.7.
Anything I should know, look out for etc?
I took two pictures of the engine and drive, should the corrosion be a concern?
Appreciate any help!

Welcome aboard

Check the drive lube for signs of water if ok the drive should be cleaned primed and painted.

Check the bellows for cracks. Replace the raw water impeller. Inspect the exhaust for corrosion and blockage.

Check engine oil and perform a compression test.

That looks to be in pretty rough and poorly maintained condition. You would be wise to have a marine mechanic check it out carefully to ensure no unpleasant surprises. The bellows probably need replacing just looking at the poor maintenance done on the rest of the mechanical areas.

The scuppers are plugged (or soon will be) with all the debris sitting in the gutters. If that's typical of the rest of the boat, she looks like a headache.

Best of luck!!!

Test drive it and work the drive. Make sure it shifts properly. listen for any vibrations or grinding as you cycle the drive. looks like they just power washed that drive a little bit too much since the bottom paint looks brand new.
