Default Need Help w/ 1990 Maxum 21' Boat

Hi

Just got a 'free' boat, it's here in Vermont. Hope to run it around on the Connecticut river as well as other places, maybe in ocean. Needs new seats/covers, some floor work and, oh, a motor. Hull seems ok though.

Great to see this active forum, hope some can help me out

1. Could use a Manual. No 1990 manuals on this site (if I looked in the right place), nor on Maxum Customer Care website (they only go back to 1993). Tried US Marine and a Bayliner dealer w/o success. Any manual/pointers/suggestions welcome.

2. I'm told I have a model 2102 but have only seen model #'s 2100 w/ letter suffixes. My boat takes an outboard motor, has hull #: USHA91MGA090. Believe the 21xx means 21' long. Not sure what the xx02 means, nor which suffix is appropriate, any help welcome, would help me to talk more intelligently.

3. This boat takes an outboard, my understanding is that boat takes a 25" shaft. I measured, it's 25" from bottom of V to transom, +/- a half inch. Am I on target here?

4. Have a line on a 2001 90hp Honda 4-stroke w/ 25" shaft at a reasonable price. My boat guy says should be enough horsepower and that he can adapt to my boat. Will need to get some guaranty that motor is working, but any suggestions, warnings etc?

Thanks

Rich
