Default More Questions

Hi All,

Sorry for having so many questions but I had absolutely no paperwork when I bought the boat and since it was a repo, I dont even have a dealer to turn to so I am hoping you guys will indulge me a little longer so here goes;

First, I went to get some keys cut today and while I was able to get the ignition key cut, I could not get the cabin key. Are these boat specific locks or are they available online? I also need to get an additional key/tool that allows me to open the gas/water/pump out. There's a name on it D/P Key but a google search gets me nowhere. Do you guys know where I can find them?

Next, I know that the boat has Sirius Satellite radio installed/equipped and I found what appears to be the hardware in a closet and I was wondering if you guys have any idea what I would have to do to hook this up? Here's a picture of how its installed;

Thanks as always!

cym
no need to appologize..if we can answer a question..we're more than happy to help where we can...so..let em fly...

for keys to the ignition/salon....take the number of the key to a maxum/bayliner dealer...give them the number and they will order the keys for you...they are kinda specific for your lock...(not that these locks will stop anyone really wanting to get in..but it will slow them down...they are relatively inexpensive..when we got our new boat...it came with 2 sets of keys....I had lost a set (the only one we had at the time) over the side and had to hotwire the boat to get home...well....I ordered 6 sets of keys...one for each of us...one hidden on the boat...plus a couple sets onboard ready to get the boat underway incase one escapes over the side....

as for the key for the caps....go to any west marine or a local boat store...they have them for like a buck each....the plastic ones are the cheapest and easiest to get...they make multi type tools with screw drivers and a bottle opener for something like 10 bucks.....

What you have there is a JENSEN SSR2000 SIRIUS RECEIVER.

Here is a link to a PDF of the manual online:

http://files.theradioplace.com/pdf/manu ... manual.pdf

Hopefully that should answer your Q's. Pg 7 is particularly helpful. I suspect that the blue RCA conectors with the red and white markings is the connectors found in the closet??

I would say that male RCA's in your hand (Blue connectors with R & W Markings) plug into the Female R & W RCA's sitting on the floor. Red goes to Red and White goes to white. I suspect the blue male RCA's in your hand are connected to the FM Modulator and the R & W female RCA's are connected to the Sirius receiever. (If I had to guess).

Thanks guys. Shrew, it looks like I'm missing the Display Control Unit (DCU) in its entirety. I'll also have to try and track down where the heck they might have run the wires to connect to the DCU. I'll have to buy one of those :? . This is becoming a familiar theme...

The BRY (Black Red Yellow) wires look like the Power to the device itself. I would expect the DCU cable to have a DIN connection on the end and that end to be in the closet somewhere. If you don't have it, it probably never made it back on the boat.

I've read some mixed reviews on that particular model. I would check to see if the antennae is still around as well. You might be spending more money to replace missing parts, than just buying a new one. At least that way, you can get exactly what you want. I didn't look hard, but didn't find any "Controller Only" products for that device for sale. FWIW

Thanks Shrew. It has the antenna installed on the radar arch so someone went to the trouble of installing this thing properly by the look of it. I actually found one of these complete packages on ebay for 4.99 and including shipping it was 16.50 so we'll see what happens when it arrives. Must be a really good system that someone is selling it for 4.99 :? LOL Maybe I just bought the instructions...
