well..we just got back from a weekend on the boat...we did a local run to the Everett marina for the weekend..left friday morning at about 9am....naturally since we didn't have far to go..we were tied up by 9:30 and paying our bill at the marina by 10:30am.....
although the afternoons got a bit windy ..the winds would die down by 6pm or so...of course that is great for the parasailors on jetty island.......they cross over and the next thing you see are all these sails going back and forth.....
Saturday we woke up to a very nice morning and again the winds would kick up..the windsailors would get going and then other boaters woud try to dock....which in the winds blowing them off the dock is always exciting....but the most exciting thing was we had a Grey or Humpback whale swim up to the river and hang around where we were....I was helping a boater dock and heard the blow behind me...kinda startled me...
the whale was only about 200ft from me
then finally it seemed to move back out of the river and head back out to deeper sound waters
after getting up this morning we headed back to our marina at dagmars and put the boat up before the tides was too low to take us out.....packed up the gear and headed home to do the sunday get ready for monday stuff....
when I went back to wash the boat and get her ready for next time...I stopped by and introduced myself to Nimh.....he's now only a few rows away from me....we showed each other our boats and I gave him a few suggestions on making life a bit more pleasant on a 24ftr.....showed him my boat...and hopefully we'll meet up on the water someplace...
if you guys get a chance to introduce yourselves to members.....do so...looking fwd to meeting up with Nimh and his wife angie....
well...next weekend is not a boating weekend before we head up to Roche harbor for memorial weekend...can't wait....we'll head out on friday after work and stay till tues....
