Default Maxum Media Day

Hi all.
...an interesting thing happened to me today....there is a media event where US Marine invites a bunch of the media and guests to come and inspect a few of thier new boats. They fly people out to a location and provide boats to inspect and drive then write about them.
I was honored and excited to have been asked to come out to North Carolina for the event. It's being held from the 27th -29th of may and I have never been to anything like this. So I'm really excited to get to attend this event.
They will have a number of both Maxum and Bayliners for our inspection and I think we'll get to drive them some.
I'll be taking my digital camera for sure and I'll be writting articles here on the boats we get to play on!!....I'll post them here and also write my experience here for all to read!...
Last year they asked several people from the Bayliners Owners club to attend and it sure seemed like it was an exciting event as well as informative. I hope I can do the new boats justice.

The good news is I get to spend time on new boats while burning someone elses gas!!...woohoo.....

Looking forward to your article SP!! VERY COOL!!!!

The wife and I were looking at the 2008 Bayliner 245 online. Very tempted. If they have one, check it out for me!

Oh, and ask them if they plan on bringing back their online store for Maxum (visors, hats, shirts etc).

That sounds like a great opportunity.

Maybe you could have some questions/suggestions prepared ahead for them.
I think the parts manuals on the Maxum website are great. But, I would like to see some model specific owners manuals, wiring diagrams and vintage sales literature available in .pdf format that we could download and print.

Have fun, enjoy the "low country seafood boil welcome dinner" and take lots of pictures for us.

Very Cool! Do you know specific location?

I'm with the rest on the online manuals. I have the .pdf parts catalog which is a big help but.......

Do you need a 'deck hand'? I can take pics while you 'touch' the merchandise.

the lastest news is that we're having this event in SouthPort North Carolina a small marina down on the intercoastal waterway. I've asked to test these boats..

Bayliner 245 NSB
Bayliner 300
Bayliner 320 w/ Axius
Maxum 3100 w/ Axius
Maxum 3700 SY

of course I can test any of the others if we have time too....actually I said put in for all of them..but the coordinator said to pick some..so...I did....

the other boats available for testing are
Bayliner 175
Bayliner 185
Bayliner 194 SF
Bayliner 204 SF
Bayliner 205
Bayliner 225

but being a maxum owner...I'm trying to test all of the maxum boats....so...I'll be thinking of all you guys here on the MOC and will post everything I do.....

With gas prices rising I'm sure the sub 24' boats are taking a hit. Above 24' fuel costs are really an issue with owners (on average). It wouldn't surprise me to see them start to shuffle the Bayliner/Maxum/Sea Ray line to eliminate duplication. Not unlike GM.
