It doesn’t appear to be a valve. Just a fitting to the fuel filter housing.

My 2400 SCR doesn’t have a fuel valve and most boats of it size I’ve seen don’t have one either. Why are you looking for one?

Why am I looking?
Because the article states that the cause of the breakdown is a clogged valve.

Guess I lost track of the issue.

Yup a restricted fuel pick up will starve the engine.

I would just get a 2 gallon portable gas tank and try to hook up to engine.
If it works, then you know its something to do with fuel system???
Good Luck.

On a more positive note: I finally got your gauges out of my boat.

They all work except the RPM sticks a bit.
So i drilled a hole and moved the gauge around with a small piece of wire.(Hopefully it will help it work).

If not you can see where I taped up the whole and you can access it6, if you need too.

I am including the drain for the shower.( Hope that helps).
Ill get it sent tomorrow.
Cheers.

I replaced the hose and thermostat on the 10th, but due to the weather I did not go out to sea.
Did this today.

I got 4400 RPM and the speed was 30 mph (based on mobile app)
Sterndrive was trimmed down.

I also measured the temperature of the block and exhaust manifold, the difference left/right is 10-12 degrees Celsius.

Sounds like the old thermostate was the problem,or at least part of it. It's normal for the manifold to be different tempatures. 4400 rpm is okay for maximum rpm. Your 4.3 motor is a bit underpowered for such a heavy boat,do try to be careful when loading it with water etc.

Agree the gauge readings look normal. As mentioned it’s normal to see a difference between the starboard and port exhaust manifolds.

Glad to hear you got things working well! If you experiment with the engine trim, you’ll probably hit 4600 RPM and gain a few MPH. That’s right I’m the sweet spot for that motor. Each boat is different, but generally you want the engine trimmed up a bit so that the thrust is going straight back and parallel to the water surface. That’s the most efficient because the motors work is pushing the boat forward and not up or down. So keep it in until you get on plane, then trim up and adjust. You’ll hear the motor “lighten up” and RPM and speed will increase. That’s good. If you hear the prop cavitate and speed drop, then you’ve gone too far. Usually 1/8-1/4 up on the gauge is right. If the bow starts to porpoise/bounce then use tabs down to correct.

If you have tabs, some boats can go faster with them down because it lifts the boat out of the water, reducing drag on the hull. Some go faster with them up because they can add drag themselves. In my experience, below 30 mph runs better with them down and above 30 can be better with them up. Also use them to correct for listing (side to side tilt) and porpoising (bow bouncing). It always helps to lower them when getting up on plane.

It will take some experimenting, but you’ll gain efficiency.
