A 1994 Maxum should have the HIN molded directly into the gelcoat. It will look like a stamp. Depending on where it was manufactured, yours will start with one of these numbers:
BVK, MXK, MXP, MXR, MXY, XNC
It will end in a "94"
There is a second, hidden location where the HIN is located inside of the hull somewhere. This is typically very difficult to find and access and is only known to the manufacturer and shared with law enforcement. The purpose of the second HIN is to reduce theft. A thief could easily remove the external HIN, however the internal HIN would remain for identification purposes to prevent and identify theft. Nobody can tell you where the second HIN is located. If someone ground out or removed the external HIN, then you very well may be dealing with a stolen boat. Announcing how to locate your internal/hidden HIN would be a blueprint on how to steal Maxum boats.
