Default maxum 1700 xr carpet

hi guys im new here so please bear with me please

ive just brought a maxum 1700 xr and the carpet is not good if i rip up the carpet will i find fiberglass bottom smooth or rough ?? and can i leave it fiberglass bottom as want to use the boat for fishing and the flooring will get wet ????

Welcome aboard!

under the carpet will be plywood decking with a coat of resin on it. If the deck is solid you can add a layer of glass over it and paint on non-skid.

Thanks for the speedy response
I'll not very good at that so I think I'll rip it up and replace it with water proof carpet lol think that would be a good idea

If you’re using it as a fishing vessel that’s not a bad idea but it may get funky over time.

what i gonna do is take it up and just lay the water proof carpet and screw it down in the corners so i can remove it and jet it down..

Install and seal the screw heads and make the carpet 'snap-in'. I wouldn't screw/unscrew to remove and re-install the carpet. That will lead to rot in the cockpit sole.
