Default Introduction... and a question

Hi Everyone, my name is Matt. I'm new to the forum.

In late 2007 I bought a Burgundy '98 Maxum 2300 SC. It has a 7.4L Bravo 3 outdrive and I guess it was out in NH before I had it. I live in Western Massachusetts and boat primarily on the Connecticut River and occasionally make a trip to Boston and the Inner Harbor, the boat lives on a Karavan Dual Axle Trailer.

I'm a beginner when it comes to boating and maintenance, I did my first winterization last year and now I am getting ready to start a new boating season. My first question is kind of strange... In the center of the cockpit floor, there is a storage area for what I can only assume is the paddle and water skis.

Where does this storage area drain? Last year getting on and off the boat, when it rained, when I washed the boat, this area would always fill with water. Now that I am getting the boat ready for the Spring, I am washing it again and again it is full of water. This area must drain somewhere... Maxum put drains in for the anchor locker, the ice box, the transom storage area, they must have put one in for this area.

Any help would be greatly appreciated and any guidance on how to unblock it would be equally appreciated.

Thanks.

Hi Matt
welcome too the zoo...since the boat is on the trailer ..you can lift the bow up some and drain the water back towards the transom plug..pull the plug and it should come pouring out.....if not then you have a plugged wheep hole down the keel area of the boat back by the engine bay.....

hope this helps....
