Default Interior question

Hello all,

I have another slightly odd question. In the cabin of our 2900, there is a flat plastic cover on the head liner directly above the forward port side storage compartment shelf. I have seen pictures of other cabins and there appears to be some sort of protrusion mounted in that location. Can anyone tell me what is/was normally there?

It's a little tricky without a pic. Based on the description the only thing I can think of in that area that would require underside access might be the port-forward cleat? It might be easier to align yourself with one of the hatches inside, then go topside and use the hatch placement as a reference and look around.

A close up would be more helpful, kinds of looks like a CO2 detector.

It does look like a CO2 Detector.

Does it have a little Test button on it?

That is a picture I pulled off the internet but my boat just has a block off plate in that location. I do have a CO2 detector in the aft cabin.

Yes I have seen wiper motor covers that look like this but it is way to far forward to be that, windshield is above head .
