Default Import engine

Looking on info on importing engine blocks from USA to U.K.

I currently have a maxum 290 scr 2001 with twin 4.3L v6 (190) with bravo 2 legs they both have 600 hours give or take each one block is cracked and I'm thinking changing to mercruiser Cummings 4.2 Diesel engines and only seem to see them in USA can't find any in U.K. So question what extra charges would I get for importing.

Ps I have loads of relatives in USA so could I use them for importing to make cheaper

Changing to diesels is a big costly job. They are not cheap plus the gas tank will need to be modified to add a return.

If the top of the y-pipe is above the water line the exhaust can be removed. The water hose inlet will need to be plugged.

I think it will be a bit more than just having relatives package it and send it off to Fedex.

As far as diesels go, measure the space from the transom assembly to the bulkhead. Will you have enough room to get a diesel in there?
