Default im buying this today... advice please

1997 17' cuddy with 1997 90 hp mercury outboard. 3 tour iraq solider owned with no time to use. Garage kept and 25 original hours. All cushions and port o pottie were just unwrapped for photos. Boat is like new and water tested but given age is 5,000 dollars a good deal?

Sounds like a deal ......and welcome aboard!

Boat looks great...have you gone for a ride? I would. Do a compression test on the outboard and unscrew the lower out drive fluid screw to make sure there isn't any water. Fluid should be dark green and not milky brown.

Again a test drive should tell all.

Good luck

Roger

I forgot to add since this outboard has sat around for a bit I would go and put a new impeller in and any other rubber components that will wear out.

Welcome aboard

What Roger said, you may also try pricing on line at yacht world or another site.

However newer merc is probably worth that.

Thanks I wanted an outboard but a little longer. I felt like this deal was too good to pass up. Decisions, decisions

Thanks Timbo. Yes I did buy the boat and took it for a test drive. It ran great and its home now but not titled yet so shes sitting, looking beautiful. I guess a full waxing is in this weekend's forecast
