Default How far up the potomac

For those of you in the Northern VA area here's a navigational question...

How far up the potomac (lower part) can one typically go in your average <20 ft boat? I see the area past DC where the rowing crews seem to hang out....can power boats get up that far? How much further towards great falls if so? Drive by there on the parkway sometimes and just wondered.

Default upper potomac

The wife likes to put in along the waterfront in Georgetown. There are a couple of resturants and open air tables. I think you can go a little further, but not much in a 20 footer. If you're looking for a neat area, however, go up the Anacostia past RFK stadium. You go past the Navy Yard, and the site they are talking about for the new Ball park.
