Default Holiday Boat parades

Here in Florida and some other Southern States, we have the Tradition of having Holiday Boat Parades. Everyone gets together and decorates their boats with Christmas lights, decorations, and just about anything else they can lash to the hull. Usually there is a pre-party
then the party on each boat while parading down the river
then an after party at a marina or some local waterfront establishment.

I was just wondering if anyone here has participated in this tradition in their area and if so do you have any pictures or good stories?

This is our local Parade:

We have Comcast cable up here in central Illinois and one of the stations that we get is a South Florida Fox station which has the Ft Lauderdale Holiday Boat Parade.

I am trying to remember when they have it on TV either after Christmas or before but it is fun to watch. Is this what you are talking about?

Even when it is in the lower temps and snow on the ground it gives us hope that spring is coming for a new boating season!

Happy Holidays

Roger

While I have never participated in one there are several in Maryland; Annapolis, Middle River, Rock Hall, .... just to name a few.

Although I think the drink of choice is hot chocolate.

Think there are some down here in the DC area on the Potomac also. We've never done one, too darn cold!

Yes Rens..... I have gone the snow route myself but I was thinking (which could be dangerous) If I could put a layer of holiday colors shrink wrap on our boat for next year.

It is a shame you can't order something in a gift wrap colors instead of plain old white or blue. Maybe with a big red bow next year!

Where is my marketing guy?

Happy Holidays

Roger why don't you just add color to the snow? i.e. one big snow cone

Mike... :-) being retired for almost a year now, I have added too much time on my hands to my resume.

However.....I do like grape snow cones!
