Default Holding Tank Access Maxum 3000 SCR

Hi,

Apologies for the newbie question, but can anyone tell me how to access/inspect the holding tank for a 1997 Maxum 3000 SCR? I understand it's under the rear cabin seating, but I didn't want to start taking things apart without asking the question first.

Second part to the question - has anyone ever installed an aftermarket float in the holding tank to know if it's full/empty? Any recommendations on one or is that a bad idea?

Thanks very much.
Ken

I can access mine (1999) by removing the center seat panel. It’s secured by a few screws that go thru the carpet. You can also see a portion of it from the ER by peeling back the insulation around the discharge hose.

As far as level indicators, float style are generally not used. Most black water indicators are external capacitance style that read levels thru the side of the tank.

Thanks very much - that sounds like it should be relatively easy to access. I'll also look into external level readers. Thanks again!

Default Tank monitor

I use a (Levelguard Z25302RK) two tank monitor for fresh water and holding tank and it seems to work well. All you have to do it stick the sensors on the outside of the tank at three different levels and run the wires to the touch pad. See attached photo.

Thanks, that looks like a good solution. I'll see if I can find one in stock.

Cheers,
Ken
