I just bought a 1998 maxum 2400scr. When I pump out the holding tank what direction should I have he water lever in the engine compartment?

Are you talking about discharging it overboard? Using the Macerator?

No I am talking about when using the pump station

What lever are you refering to?

If you don’t have a macerator there is no lever just hook up to the deck fitting and suck away. If you have a macerator that is used to overboard dumping at sea the lever handle needs to be in line with the hose to the deck fitting.

PS my 2400 only is connected to the deck fitting so I just hook up anD pump it.

Are you referring to the seacock that picks up raw water for flushing? That doesn't need to be closed for a pump out. Are you talking about a diverter valve that directs the holding tank discharge from the pump-out deck fill to the macerator? That would need to be set to the discharge, not pointing to the macerator.
