Default Hello out there

New to this site... Just want to say hey to all boat owners... Recently purchased a new Maxum 2900SE. Due to the time of the year I opted not to ship boat until April 2010. Not new to boating, recently owned a 1991 27' ChrisCraft Crowne. Thought I would find boat owners with same boat as mine so that I may pick up some info.

Life is Short, Boats are cool!

thanks for the welcome, during the off season (long winter) hoping to learn a little about the new boat we just purchased since I will not be setting a foot on board til spring. Did get the crawl around under the shrink wrap. That was a bit of a tease.

We boat in Raystown Lake, Huntingdon Pa. Unfortunately it is a part of the country were boating is seasonal. Currently trying to figure out where to put the boat name on the Maxum. Was wondering were others who own a 2008 Maxum 2900 have put theres?

Our last boat (owned between 1999 and 2000, our last one), was a '92 Chris Craft Crowne 232 Eurocruiser. What model did you have, because although ours was a '232' it felt more like at least 26 ft, maybe 28 loa. Although it had a 5.7ltr 260, it felt like trying to power an elephant with a trawling motor, after stepping up from a Dynasty 19ft cuddy 3.4ltr 135 merc.

9 years later we just finished our first season with our Maxum 1999 2400SCR and what a difference between the Chris Craft and Maxum, for a comparably sized boat with roughly similar power.

The Maxum handles so much more efficiently and out of the hole than the CC, all else being just about equal. You will undoubtedly be incredibly impressed come Springtime. Enjoy.

as a Chris Craft owner I agree. Although it was a very well built boat it did take a run way to bring her out of the water. I cant wait to see how the new boat responds.

a suggestion on where to put boat name : we just purchased our 2008 , 2900se maxum in august , the location we choose was the back of the rear sun seat backrest, it seemed to be the only place large enough to put a name where you could use large enough letters, our boat is called Carpe Dieum, looks great there but be aware when the camper top canvas is completely installed it covers it .
good luck with your 2900se next season ,at least we got 11 engine hours on our boat before we needed to remove for the winter. eastern canada .
p.s. did you get the axius option?
