I shrinkwrap my boat every year. Feel free to start a new thread and I'd be happy to assist. I'm sure there are others who also shrinkwrap their boat. As far as actions, unfortunately, there's not much we can do about that.

Apparently he felt very slighted, though I'm not clear why, and felt his contributions were intellectual property. There's not a lot we can do about that. We are all sad to see Bella go and truly wish that he would reconsider and rejoin the forum. It would be nice to avoid having this thread become a downward spiral of speculation and accusations.

Ya know, gents... things aren't always as they seem! Sure seems like Bella left in a hurry, with hardly ANY provocation---just my take on it. You never know; he could have lost everything in a business down-turn and was too embarrased to tell us that, left the country... went to jail---who knows! He appeared to be a fairly affluent individual----based on some of the posts he made---and most of the people I know who are succussful business owners (as he appeared to be) have shown a little more "tolerance" to the comment SeaPuppy made than he exhibited. SP's polite reminder to keep the forum what it was intended to be (non-political, etc...) couldn't have been more professionally-composed. To have him just leave along with all his pictures, projects and so on just looks too fishy... almost like he didn't want to be found if you know what I mean.

I'm not an investigator, but do know when something doesn't pass the smell-test. But it all doesn't matter, because like SeaPuppy says; "don't compare your life to others---you have no idea...." Heck, for all we know this guy didn't even EXIST!---as the virtual "blog world" has a certain amount of anonymity to it. Sure the boat pictures were real-looking, his projects all appeared real and so on... but to have him leave like he did just didn't add up.

I'm really at a loss as to what occured to make Bella leave...I re-read the posts several times before I came to the conclusion that the post should be locked down...this has me totally baffled since for one...it was the first time in the history of MOC that I had to lock a thread down for such stuff....

I'm truly sorry he chose to leave us but can't for the life of me understand his stance....it was totally out of the blue too me....
and now he's removed all existance of his posts really has me in a quandry....why would someone throw such a temper tantrum like that.???...doesn't make sense too me at all....

I'm sorry guys for causing or contributing to this becoming an issue....I've always tried to let this site run itself and make it very friendly to all.......only felt a need to delete or ban spammers......just let things run and hope for the best...but..this really has me wondering where I went wrong on it...
I even got Shrew to help mod the site as a sanity check on me ...we often bounce off each other before taking action.....so..to lock a thread isn't taken lightly just for sh#ts and giggles......

For the record. "I" was the one who criticized the fact that the thread was taking a downward spiral and becoming too political. These types of posts have a tendecy of offending people. However, I also had considered locking it for the same reason and fully support that the thread was locked. It was the proper action to take. Technically, Bella's decision to leave was prompted NOT by the locking of the thread, but rather my criticism of the politically charged content in the thread. While I was not intending to single any one poster out, Bella took it as me attacking him and his freedom of speach. I'm sorry he took it that way. It certainly was not my intention, and truly hope that he decides to rejoin us. He will be missed.

Evidently I missed the fireworks - took me a while to find the locked thread, the one that Rog started regarding the Pepsi explosion.

...............I'm.....I'm.....I'm actually at a loss for words (a shocker, I know)........

I for one couldn't be more pleased with SP and Shrew's moderating capabilities... you guys are tops, don't change a thing as far as I'm concerned!

I don't think you'll get an argument from anyone on that Jeff.

As terrible as it is to see Bella not just gone, but totally erased, I agree it was the right thing to do, our moderators, shrew and SP are terrific!
Hopefully things will settle and Bella will be back - he was a very helpful guy, but alas we are lucky on this forum to have many more of these too!
