Default Gas Burping out of side vent

I have a 24' SCR and when I stored it this winter I filled the gas tank and when it is in my heated shop it burps out gas threw the vent on the starboard side. Any suggestions on how to stop this?
I am concerned this coming summer when I fill it up it will be discharging into the water as the fuel expanse.

You over filled it. Siphon some out.

Agree. You need to leave a little room for expansion.

Yes I have done that. How do you fill your tank and not let gas come out of the vent? I noticed the vent is below the gas intake.

Vent line should have a loop in it that goes up over tank full level.
This is primarily to prevent water from flowing from the vent downhill to the tank.

My 2400 almost always not only spits some fuel out the vent but some back out the fill. I’ve even installed a vent whistle and by the time I hear it it burps. Best I’ve come up with is to use a rag around the nozzle. I have contemplated raising the fill to see if that helps and a vent spill preventer.

You filled it cold. My assumption is tanks could have been underground, which also makes the fuel cool. As the fuel warms it expands. You should really only fill the tank about 90%.

I'm guessing that tank is a 70gallons, so take 7-10 gallons out of the tank.
