Default Fuel Pump not gettting juice

Hello new group.... maybe someone out here can help me on this one.
Went to drop my boat in for this years maiden voyage.. 5.0 merc, 1988 Maxum. Never had a problem before this... boat cranked and cranked, but no fuel. The pump wasn't getting juice. I traced the feed to the pump to the starter selonoid. I jumped the hot on the starter to the feed on the pump and it instantly started spinning. turned the key and the boat started right up. drove the boat from Peekskill to verplank and it ran great. but it wouldn't shut off.... sound like the 20 dollar relay or maybe the selenoid?
